Comoro Features
Meta-Gaming
Comoro provides meta-gaming services for individual gamers as well as guilds or groups of players. We provide a lot more capabilities than you are probably used to seeing. Many meta-gaming sites provide little more than a simple forum. We think a gaming website should be more than just a forum and some static content. MMOG's are full-immersion hobbies, so we see our site as a place where players can hang out together outside of their games.
The Power of Web 2.0
On
Comoro, we provide our users with:
- A fully functional Wiki. A wiki page is one which allows for cooperative editing of web content. Ever get really tired of searching for information on a drop or a quest or how-to information on those forum sites? Well, we think that wikis are the perfect way to create and organize MMO game knowledge. Our registered users can also edit wiki pages, so that the whole community can contribute.
- An integrated Marketplace where members can place ads for goods or services they want to buy, sell, or trade in-game. Our ads are interactive and support keyword-based searching. You can customize your contact info in your own Marketplace profile, and receive notifications in real-time when and how you wish, when someone takes an action on one of your listings!
- An external link directory. Naturally, no site can contain everything. Our directory function allows users to submit links to other sites where they found interesting, relevant content. So what isn't here, you could still find referenced here!
- An articles database. Have an article you want to publish to your fellow gamers? Unlike wiki pages, articles have a single author. Other users can attach comments but cannot edit the original text.
- Fully integrated image and file galleries. No more cumbersome attachments to forum posts for those cool screenshots or the zip files for your favorite UI mods. Anything in our file or image galleries can easily be linked to from elsewhere on the site, in a wiki page, an article, a blog, a forum post, anywhere.
- Natively supported FAQ's. Got a question? Want to share your wisdom with your fellow gamers? Use a FAQ! No more searching endless forum posts for that really good Q&A you saw last week.
- Integrated blogs. Ever wanted to keep a diary of your gaming adventures? Want to write reviews of new games, or rant about the nerf in the latest patch? Our registered users can create their own blogs.
- Discussion forums, of course.
- Native RSS feeds. Any of the content features discussed above can be exported as a RSS news feed. Subscribe to your favorite blog or forum right in your browser or email client!
- A site search engine that supports searching in any (or all!) of these content categories. (See the Find tool at the top of the page, beneath our logo.)
- Categories! Everything on Comoro can be categorized. Want to find all the articles, forums, image galleries, blogs, etc. that have to do with your favorite MMO? Just click on the Categories link.
- We also offer integrated webmail, email lists, newsletters, and a private secure Instant Messaging service that supports conference rooms and can even talk to users on other legacy IM systems such as MSN and YIM.
