Unless you are a registered user, everything on our site is read-only. You can read and even search, but you cannot post or edit. We leave our content readable to non-users so that search engine bots (such as Google) can find and index our site.

We have three levels of membership: Copper, Silver, and Gold, each offering different access levels and features, as follows.

Copper (Registered) Subscription

Registered (aka Copper) memberships are free. All you need is a valid email address, to which your login instructions will be sent. A Registered member may:

Basic (free subscriber) benefits
  • Browse the calendar.
  • Submit articles (subject to moderator approval).
  • Post and vote/rate comments.
  • Submit links to the Directory (subject to URL validation and moderator approval).
  • Suggest additions to FAQ's.
  • Download files, from galleries and attachments.
  • Use the user-to-user site-internal messaging system.
  • Subscribe to newsletters.
  • Participate in polls, quizzes, and surveys.
  • Rate wiki pages.
  • Post in forums.
  • Visit our Marketplace with read-only access.
  • View charts and drawings.
  • See the list of other users.
  • Customize their menu.
  • View the Shoutbox.
  • Log into a Comoro Guild site, with whatever group permissions the guild confers on them.



Silver Subscription

Silver memberships are a premium subscription level costing $10 every six (6) months. A Silver member may:

Basic paid subscription benefits
  • Do everything a Registered member can do.
  • Use their memberhandle@comoro.net address as an outside email address, using our Comail webmail interface.
  • Access our private, encrypted Openfire Instant Messaging service, based on Jabber technology.
  • Edit wiki pages, and view page history.
  • Create and post to blogs.
  • Post and respond to ads in our Marketplace.
  • Add events to calendars.
  • Upload files into galleries, or to their private user space.
  • Start new threads in forums.
  • Attach files to forum posts and wiki pages.
  • View quiz results.
  • Customize Comoro's look and feel using their own style sheets.
  • Send and receive tasks to/from other users.
  • Create their own bookmarks of Comoro content.


Gold Subscription

Gold memberships are a premium subscription level priced at $20 every six (6) months. A Gold member may:

Premium paid subscription benefits
  • Do everything a Registered or Silver member can do.
  • Use web-based email lists to create and administer their own e-lists.
  • Create their own personal wiki home page.
  • Administer calendar items.
  • Administer charts and drawings.
  • Approve article submissions (own articles are auto-approved).
  • Validate links posted to a Directory (own submitted links are auto-validated).
  • Create new file and image galleries.
  • Batch upload files (via zip archives) into galleries or their private user space.
  • Create and send out newsletters.
  • Post messages in the Shoutbox.
  • Create and administer polls and quizzes.
  • Configure their own modules (customizing the site layout for their login).
  • Earn credit toward their own membership renewal by referring other Silver or Gold members.


Platinum Guild Subscription

Platinum (Guild) memberships are $50 every six (6) months. Need your own site that looks like Comoro.net and has most of the same cool features, but you administer its layout, content, and membership level access permissions? We offer that too! See our Guild and Group Hosting page.


Special note: During our beta test period, registering for a Comoro membership automatically upgrades you to Gold status! Some memberships are being comped as a promotion. (If you're not being billed, this means you!) Just be aware that at some point we will need to start charging for premium access.
