Marketplace
Our Marketplace software is still in Beta test, but it is live! The Perceived NeedOne might well ask what good is a marketplace on an external site, now that a number of MMO's (e.g. WoW) have built a market, a mail system, and a delivery mechanism right into the game? Good question. But have you ever played on multiple servers, or in different "realms," or played multiple MMO's concurrently? Lots of people have, of course. Can you imagine wanting to trade your Sword of 1000 Truths on your WoW account for some Orcish Hammer of Ultimate Thumping on Warhammer when it comes out? Did your friends all move to a different server on Guildwars, and you need to swap your toon's life savings to a new home? Wish you could auction off that Armor of Uberness that you won in the lotto after the big raid the other day, rather than just putting a price tag on it on the in-game consignment system? Our SolutionWell, our Marketplace provides a place where you can do all of those kinds of things, and more. We offer a keyword searchable database of classified ads, all categorized according to the games and servers/realms to which they apply. Ads for buying, selling, trading, hiring in-game crafters, etc. We maintain a profile directory where members can post as much of their personal contact info as they wish to share, making it easier to get in touch with people who may not share their gaming hours. Naturally, there are other sites where you can already post ads of this kind, or at least post to a thread in an appropriate forum, for one or more particular MMO's. Yes, we know. But our ads are interactive! That means that when somebody reads your listing, they can accept, make a counteroffer, or ask a question, and you will be notified in real-time at the contact point of your choice! How would you like to see a note get sent via Jabber to your IM client, or in a SMS text message to your cellphone, or even via email (how quaint)? This is 2008 after all. To access the Marketplace, click on the link in the top left menu bar, right below "Contact Us" or "Home." Or just click here. Best of all, if your guild or clan's site is hosted on Comoro you can access it from there in the same way. This means you have access to the Marketplace without even leaving your clan site! Comoro is about helping players communicate outside of game (OOG). A site devoted to MMO hobbyists should be more than a static website circa 1999. It should be a place for people with a shared interest to get together and hang out. In the future, we envision Comoro.net becoming a virtual world of its own, a true meta-MMO, where players will get together OOG to meet, trade, and socialize. What It's NotHaving said all that, we should point out some things that our Marketplace is not intended to be. Comoro is not a dealer in virtual goods. We will not sell you any game gold or power-leveling services for currency IRL. We do not buy or sell game accounts. You can't pay for your monthly game subscription through us. There are other sites that offer these things (Google is your friend). We are a communications platform, and that is all. We aspire to be a good one. We don't censor or monitor user activities, except in cases of violations of our Terms of Service, but we do expect you to know and accept responsibility for your obligations under whatever End User License agreements you may have with MMO gaming companies. 'Nuff said. Created by: system last modification: Saturday 26 of January, 2008 [01:44:09 UTC] by admin
