Comoro Terms of Service

We hate lawyers. They're running and ruining the country and the world. We despise legalese with all the passion jointly and severally appertaining to the parties of the first part, the second part, and their legal assigns and successors in interest.

So we're not going to inflict any legalese on you here. Besides, we want you to read it. smile

Doing Our Part

Comoro provides various communications services on a premium subscription basis, where basic access is free and premium access is paid. (Although at present, everyone gets premium access for free.) We do this so that we don't have to sell, *choke*, advertising (which we hate almost as much as we do legalese). This means that you get no banners, popups, tracking cookies, or other annoyances from us. Yay.

You also get no warranty. Comoro provides all services on a best-efforts basis. That means we don't guarantee 24x7x52 availability, we just do the best we can. Fair enough?

Doing Your Part

As a subscriber, you agree not to deliberately hose up our system, or other users. "Hosing up our system" includes such things as:

Don't do this kind of thing to us
  • Hacking into places you're not supposed to be based on your permissions levels.
  • Installing or uploading trojans, viruses, worms, rootkits, injected HTML or SQL, or other nasty software mobs.
  • Publishing content that violates somebody else's copyright.
  • Posting crap that might get our doors kicked in or our servers seized by federal goons, like nuclear device schematics or kiddie porno.
  • Using your account to send out spam, or to advertise any kind of good or service that is illegal. (If you "grow your own" that's your business, but for gosh sakes don't try to sell it here. surprised)
  • Using your account with us to do any of these kinds of things on other sites.

"Hosing up other users" includes such things as:

Don't do this kind of thing to others
  • Maliciously deleting or altering other users' postings. (Permissions are intended to restrict this, but...)
  • Being gratuitously loathsome. Hey, we all have people we don't like. (Such as lawyers and politicians.) But when it comes down to hate speech, death threats IRL, libel, slander, and the like, just do everyone a favor and don't click Save.
  • Using any other user's published contact info to further bad intentions like identity theft, stalking, or even unsolicited commercial advertising. (Yes, spam is a crime, and junk mail probably would be too, if the government didn't deliver the mail.)
  • Letting anybody else use your account to do any of these things. You are responsible.

If you commit "hosery" we'll take whatever action we see fit, probably including canceling your subscription without refund.

Other Policies

We ask that you keep it PG-13. There will undoubtedly be kids who visit our site. Please respect that.

Our Directory section, and other content, contains links to other sites. We take absolutely no responsibility for the content of those sites, or how they treat you if you go there. Duh.

You agree that all content which you post to Comoro's site, or to any guild/clan site hosted by Comoro, is provided by you without obligating us in any way. That is to say, you cannot write up this great article about this new game expansion, post it in our articles database, and then sue us for copyright infringement. That's just silly. You post it, it's gone global. So if it's a trade secret or copyrighted material, don't post it if you want to keep it to yourself. You may label it with your by-line all you want, but don't expect us to enforce your copyright for you; we can't. Yes, we may gain some kind of commercial benefit from having your stuff contributed to our site. No, we don't owe you anything for that. You're our customer; we're not yours.

We think that about covers it. If you have any questions or concerns, you can Contact Us.
